God Promises Restoration

Updated: Jan 16

“Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world. And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.”

In these verses Peter very clearly is warning us about how the devil is prowling and always around waiting for just the right time to attack us and he does not care how he does it, who he uses or how it may hurt us. Interestingly Peter makes sure to let us know that we are not the only ones suffering from attacks from the devil. Everyone in the world suffers whether they are believers or not. Now, let me ask you, would you rather go through the attacks from the devil without God or with God who promises to restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you?

Personally, I rather struggle with God by my side to lean on, to cast my fears on, to give me peace, to trust, to give me strength to keep going, and to when the time comes to restore anything that the devil may have taken from me. I didn’t always feel this way and had to learn the hard way that only trusting and fully having faith in God is the only way to fight against the devil.

God always keeps His promises, don’t allow the devil to get you to a place of disbelief and hopelessness, put your trust and fix your eyes on God and in due time the restoration that He promises will be displayed for all to see for HIS GLORY!

Prayer: Father, I come to you today because I recognize that I can not fight against the devil's schemes on my own. I want you to know that I trust you even when I don’t see where you’re guiding me towards, even when it may seem that what I love most is being ripped out of my life because I Know that your plans are always better than mine and you promise to restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish me. I also know that you will never leave me in shame and you will defend me. Thank you for your promises, for your grace, and for your everlasting love. Amen!
