Throughout our marriage my husband has told me that God really blessed him with me. He said that before we met at night he would lay in his bed and pray for me. So, from the moment we met and started to spend time together he knew God chose me specifically for him. We built our relationship foundation on the Lord.
“Therefore, everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”
- Matthew 7: 24-27.
We have been going to Discover Church on and off since 2013. We always believed but we're not always living it. As we continued to grow in our faith together, I asked Ben if he remembered when he was saved and where he was at. He said he did not recall.
Our family took a trip to Elevation Church. We have watched together online many times so this was an exciting trip for us. Pastor Steven’s voice boomed as he encouraged us and explained God is not through with you yet! He said we have carried years of baggage on our shoulders as he demonstrated a 265 lb. wresting match with his son. He told us to take off the old self. For God knows the you that is foreign to you but that you is very familiar to him. God knows the plans he has for all of us. Through this I experienced the overflow of God's love.
At the end of the service, he prayed the salvation prayer with everyone who wanted to have a personal relationship with the Lord and when I opened my eyes, I saw my husbands hand up. I was overflowing with love, excitement, joy and pride (the good kind) that my husband was bold and took this step. I knew God brought us on this trip for a reason and this reminded me he is always with us; he hears our prayers and really knows the desires of our hearts.
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come the old has gone, the new is here! - 2 Corinthians 5:17
